Dear Mr. President

As the official transition of President Donald Trump replacing President Barack Obama in the oval office was taking place many were reflecting on Obama’s work during his 8 years reigning as president of the United States. Some were not happy, some were happy and some were just neutral, not having anything to say on the fruit of his work. During those 8 years, a lot happened. Read more…

May I help?

There’s a story of a pastor who when he was preaching well, an elderly lady in the congregation would yell, “help us Lord!”, but when he was flunking in his preaching the lady would yell, “help him Lord!” There are much better ways on how the many in the pew can help the one in the pulpit. Lets start this new year off right by bringing the best help and encouragement we can to our pastor, here’s some tips on how… Read more…

Are you ready for Christmas?

I often get asked at work as part of “small talk” (polite conversation about unimportant or uncontroversial matters, especially as engaged in on social occasions.) “Are you ready for Christmas?” The shock in their faces is priceless when I answer yes even as early as November. Then they bust out in laughter when they realize I haven’t bought a single gift. Their next question is always undoubtedly, how can you say you’re ready for Christmas but haven’t bought a single gift yet. Read more…

What Did I Just Do?

Recently the Lord gave me a Word for his people for a Sunday service. To be honest the Word God gave me I applied to my life first, as He reminded me to Count my Blessing and name them one by one. We as believers know we should be doing this everyday but we tend to forget sometimes as life happens and we get beat down, dragged and enticed with other seemingly important things. In my sermon one of the points I emphasized was on keeping the right perspective in our lives.

Come Follow Me

“To follow = To surrender”

This is for anyone who has a daily struggle of being a control freak. You want to handle everything YOUR way. You always have to plan ahead. You make lists. You get things done! There ARE plenty of benefits to having this quality. BUT sometimes we get so wrapped up in wanting everything to go how we want it that sometimes we tend to forget to let God lead. Not only do we forget to let God lead, but sometimes

we  don’t fully follow His lead even when He does. As I struggle with letting go of the control I want to have over my own life and surrender it all to He who has such a perfect plan for our lives – Read more…

I Refuse To Sink

“2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:2-5 NLT

Who’s In Your Reflection?

They say that as parents, we are our children’s first teachers. As a mother of two, I have started to notice how much my children are learning just from watching me. I find this to be scary because although I have many pleasant moments, I have been known to have some not so pleasant moments. Like
when, I get angry at the littlest things and start screaming at the top of my lungs. While watching them, there have been times I have asked a simple question, or even for them to do something, and they will turn around and toss me an attitude and in my head I’m thinking, “Where did that come from?” Read more…

“COMFORT” or FAITH?

RUTH 1:16-17

16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so

severely, if even death separates you and me.” Read more…

Books & Bondages

Books have always had a better feel upon me than people have. I can’t recall a specific moment within my life where I parted ways with people and chose my books, where I trusted in my books more than in people, but I know many little moments led to that big moment. Sounds kind of contradictory because books come from people, so I’m still trusting in people. What I mean though is that books can’t hurt me like people do, I can trust in what my books are saying without having to trust in the one who pens what’s being said.
